Walnut Canyon National Monument

Walnut Canyon is a very steep canyon. There are long “notches” along the canyon walls. Most of these “notches” have cliff dwelling in them.  We hiked down into the canyon to see the cliff dwellings.  Unlike most national parks you can go in inside the cliff dwellings. It was very interesting to get up close to them. Then we went back to the visitor center and completed our junior ranger programs. This was junior ranger program number 77 for us. We hope to get to a hundred by the end of 2016.  2016 is the park services 100th anniversary.
